Across the school art takes many forms. From paintings to sculptures, 3D displays to watercolour pictures, we really do cover everything. A lot of our art work is inspired by the topic we are working on and also by some of the trips that we go on.
Art focus in Year 5 is on printing inspired by a visit to London-landmarks.
We have worked with clay and collage inspired by Ancient Egyptian Art and Artefacts and The River Nile respectively.
We are currently working on drawing techniques inspired by Tudor portraiture.
To link with the sea poetry we have written, we created abstract paintings inspired by the sea. Our challenge was to only use blue and white paint which meant we had to experiment with colour mixing to make sure we had enough different shades on our work. We’re very proud of the paintings and they look lovely on our classroom wall. Please check out the gallery below!
