Mrs Pratt

Dear Parents/Carer

We have had a super start to the Summer Term. The children are working really hard and are making fantastic progress. I do however still need your fantastic help to keep this progress going. The children and I have talked a lot about that to become a confident and fluent reader one have to practice, practice and practice. They read every day at school but they need even more as they are constantly learning new sounds. So this is what I need all of you to do to help your child's progress:

  • Read 3 times per week. By this I don't mean you have to read the whole book every time, set aside 10-20 min to listen and support  your child with lots of smiling and wows.
  • Make sure you practice the Spellings. We have a Spelling test every Friday.
  • Enjoy the Homework together with your child. Talk about what to do and write, make it a nice time together. The Homework needs to be back by the latest Thursday. (I need some time to look at and enjoy their super work before I put next weeks in).

Thank you ever so much for all your support and for letting me enjoy your lovely children during the day. They are simply amazing.

Kind Regards

Mrs Pratt

We are working with How to be a good friend. We learnt this song and the children decided on their own accord to unite.
They are all a pleasure to work with and take good care of each other. Enjoy the video !!!

Happy Christmas !

Have a lovely Christmas all from Mrs Pratts Class.

Dear parents,

We have had a super start to our second term. The children are making good progress in their new RWI groups learning new phonic sounds. This has resulted in more super words, sentences and short stories in their books. I am very happy to see that you as a parent understand the importance of practicing reading 3 times per week at home to encourage and support your child's reading skills, please remember to write in your child's reading record book so that they will get their stickers.

We have celebrated Children in Needs day and the children reflected on "What they could be grateful of". They said: I am grateful for dolls, doggie, teddies, new shoes, pet cats, Xbox, Ipad, TV, Play station, trampoline, swing set, cats, toy unicorn, pet doggies..........

A ginormous thank you for all of your donations and support.

Kind regards

Mrs Pratt
