A massive well done and thank you for all your children's hard work and all your support during our phonics screening week! As a reward for all their hard work we surprised them with a visit from the ice-cream van!
This week the children enjoyed a visit from The Dogs Trust. They learnt how to look after dogs and how to keep safe if they come across dogs off their leads.
The children enjoyed making medieval hats and having a medieval feast this week!
The children had a fantastic time at the castle and were brilliantly behaved. We really enjoyed spotting the various castle features such as the battlements, curtain wall, arrow slits and the moat.
The children have had a great start to the summer term and are very enthusiastic about our new topic knights and castles. We are all looking forward to our trip to Framlingham castle on Thursday 4th May. Can you please ensure your child has a coat on this day, just in case!
A big thankyou for putting so much time into listening to your child read, they are improving no end because of it. Please keep up the good work by :-
- Reading 3 times per week. By this I don't mean you have to read the whole book every time, set aside 10-20 min to listen and support your child with lots of smiling and wows.
- Make sure you practice the Spellings. We have a Spelling test every Friday.
- Enjoy the Homework together with your child. Talk about what to do and write, make it a nice time together. The Homework needs to be back by the latest Thursday. (I need some time to look at and enjoy their super work before I put next weeks in).
Quick reminder, we have PE every Monday and Thursday so can you please ensure your child has their PE kit in school all week. Next week we will be doing some junk modelling so if you have any recycling you can send in that would be brilliant!
We have had a fantastic trip at the Time and Tide Museum we learnt about 3 local heroes. Boudicaa, Captain Manby and Lord Nelson. See if you can spot everybody in the pictures!
- We will be sending lines home soon for Christmas play rehearsal. Please help your child as best as they can to learn them. Thank you.
