Homework is a very important way for you and your child to share what they are learning at school, it also helps your child to achieve and make excellent progress.
A great way to improve your child's learning, is to read regularly. This really is an important way to build confidence, boost their self-esteem and promote a love of reading. By adding comments in the reading record, you can inform your child's class teacher of how well your child is doing, or equally let them know if there any issues with their reading. The class teacher and TA will also comment and a two way dialogue begins.
Homework is another way for you and your child to participate in activities and tasks related to 'creative curriculum' topics or english and mathematics. Homework is then fed in to the activities during the following week and is the pre-requisite for some wonderful additional work in the classrooms.
Achievement and excellent progress are what Poplars is all about and by completing reading and homework tasks regularly, you can help to maximise your child's progress and make learning an enjoyable experience!
